For some time, I pondered the title of Colin's album..."Echo Bridge"? Sounded to my ears at times off the wall a bit..and then I read Colin's insightful notes on the booklet. It all makes sense, and contained within is what Colin Blunstone is known for, making wonderful music. There are many fine musicians and songwriters who are also stellar in their contributions. Colin chose to record some of the finest material that can be found anywhere, and after several listens there is nothing to dislike. All the songs are top rate. track listing:
)Levy Stubbs' Tears (Billy Bragg)
)Tearing The Good Things Down (Chris Winter)
)The Radio Was Playing Johhny Come Lately (Charlie Dore, Terry Britten, Phil Pickett)
)Everlasting Love (Chris Eaton)
)What Is Love(Colin Blunstone, Chris Eaton)
)Oxygen (Nik Kershaw)
)If I Said (Chris Winter, Hywel Maggs)
)The Best Is Yet To Come (Clifford T Ward)
)Breakaway (Benny Gallagher, Graham Lyle)
)I Want To Say A Prayer (John Capek, Marc Jordan, Steve Kipner).
This album is sure to please the most discrimminating audiophile. Every note is sung, and played with technique and prescision hardly found in most modern music. Thus, this is one of the finest examples of modern music anywhere. Hopefully as with "One Year" and "Ennismore", along with the band that gave Mr. Blunstone his muscal start, The Zombies, discovery and then appreciation for this most wonderful album will continue to grow with passing time. Lets hope! And lets be thankful for all the great music still to come from Colin:)
