First let's start by talking about some internet myths I found after hitting the "buy" button for this battery. Firstly, the writing on the foil on the battery is Japanese, not Chinese as suggested by some. Secondly there isn't a different MAH figure under the gold foil of the battery which again some have claimed. Finally the MAH reading coming from Battery Check App from Android Market is a "settable" feature and so cannot be relied on to give a correct MAH reading and so don't panic if this just reads the same as the previous battery. OK now for the review. Battery turned up on time and exactly as photo. No paper work came with the battery which is a pain as there is no data showing the battery is really 2430MAH which is the biggest issue under discussion in the forums about this type of battery. The battery fits exactly into the space and is reasonably well constructed. The battery charges quickly and lasts a significant amount longer than the original (I would say an hour or two longer for me). Whether the battery really is 2430MAH I do not know, as there is no easy way for me to check this. There are those who say that this 2430MAH is impossible in a battery this size and they seem to know much more than I do about the physics of batteries. All I can say is that for me it works fine and exactly what I wanted. What this battery doesn't do is give a massive increase in battery life for my Desire but enough for me to be pleased with. The 2430 figure plus the added hype used by the seller to suggest this is close to an "everlasting battery" means there are bound to be disappointed buyers. However if you need to get a new battery for your Desire, need it quick, don't want to spend a lot of money, don't want to have to change the back cover, want a little more life but aren't expecting the earth for £12, then this battery seems fine to me.
