Review

All the stories sparkle with vibrant characters, humorous dialogue and sly rustic lore and cunning (Sunday Express)

Roald Dahl is one of the few writers I know whose work can accurately be described as addictive (Irish Times)

About the Author

From the publication of James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the 1960s to his death in 1990, Roald Dahl became the most successful children’s author in the world. Nearly twenty years later, a fresh generation of children seek out his work with instinctive fanaticism. His creations endure - through Hollywood movies, theatre adaptations and musical works, but still most potently of all through the pure magic of his writing upon the page.

I thought that I had read every 'grown up' piece of writing that Roald Dahl had ever produced but this collection must have evaded me. 'Ah, Sweet Mystery Of Life' is a total delight from the 'Preface' to his brief biography. The stories are among the most brilliant creations from this wonderful author. Go on ......... enjoy!

Format: Paperback
Drawing on Dahl's experiences as a countryman, these beautifully written tales both charm, and completely capture the rustic lure of country life. Each story will strike a least one chord with every reader, with Dahl's wry and colourful charactor portraits offering more than a little humour. Orgasmic.
