Ebb and Flow Mary O'Sullivan has a way with words that draws the reader into the most intimate thoughts of the characters' lives. In Ebb and Flow the pain and anguish, as well as the fear felt by the main character, Ella Ford. Feelings that are the result of an horrific car accident which killed a young mother and her baby son, and scarred Ella's heart in such a way she couldn't cope with everyday life. Her loving husband with whom she shared a real estate business, was losing patience and understanding as Ella pushed him further and further away while trying to cope with her pain.
The ghostly image of the young woman killed in the accident, haunts Ella. While taking on a property for sale, Ella is confronted with the effects of the accident on that young woman's husband who is now selling the mansion that was in his wife's family for generations, in an attempt to move on from the nightmares.
Meanwhile Ellas' husband Andrew falls for a beautiful supermodel who has been blackmailed into setting Andrew up by the evil, conniving low life Jason Laide. Jason was a bully to everyone, including his wife who preferred to live overseas away from his cruel controlling temper tantrums.
The story is full of twists and turns which keep the reader interested to the end. The only disappointment with the story which is just a personal thing for me who likes to see justice done to those who have done wrong unto others, is that Jason Laide was saved from being brought to justice and being exposed for the low life bully he was, when he was killed in a car accident on the road to the mansion he had bought to tempt his wife to stay in Ireland and start a family.
Thoroughly enjoyable read which would appeal to anyone who likes an involved story full of complicated characters.
