The first Ebac Powerpac I received was so noisy I thought it must be broken, so I got Ebac to exchange it. The replacement was just as bad, so I put it in a spare room with the door shut. It worked OK for a few months, then I noticed a damp patch on the carpet. I phoned Ebac, who advised me to try a few things, none of which worked, so they arranged to collect it under their guarantee.
When it was returned to me, it worked for a week or two then started leaking from the base again. I also noticed ice forming on the back panel. It's been returned about 6 times now, and Ebac still haven't fixed the leaking problem. Nor will they exchange it. Now the unit has developed another problem, where it shuts down after a few minutes.
Ebac staff are always pleasant and helpful on the phone about arranging collection and return (at their own expense). But I'm not at all impressed by the quality of their product.
Though the unit is still under guarantee, I've given up on it now. Ebac obviously can't fix it, and it's not worth the trouble - or the damage to my carpets.
