The whole point of paying for a guide book is to decrease the probability that the pub you go to for a meal is a dud. We have visited quite a few pubs listed in the Michelin guide and it is unfortunately much more hit and miss than I would expect from an organisation with Michelin's reputation. We have had some very good meals but we have also had some shockers - dry, poorly cooked and composed dishes and one pub with dead flowers on a very sticky table, aweful food and to add insult to injury, the place turned into a Kareoke bar half way through the meal! I really am in two minds whether I should persevere with the Michelin guide or throw it in the bin and start again.

I had expected Michelin to provide a good guide. I sampled four pubs in Somersaet and Devon. Three were listed in Michelin and did not provide acceptable food. I also tried on listed in the Good Pub Guide that was streets ahead of the rest but no listed in Michelin. Michelin need to get their inspection act together. I binned the Michelin as it is rubbish.
