Amazon Verified Purchase
Paperback is light enough to keep in the car, & organised by regions then counties - quite easy to search. For areas I know the recommendations & descriptions are accurate. Focuses on the eating rather than the drinking, but covers the real ales as well. Description of pub & atmosphere helps you decide. This book focuses more on the gastro end of pub dining.

I discovered this guide quite by chance at a pub near Seal called the Harrow Inn at Ightham Green. I was hooked. Subsequently, I have discovered some really amazing places as I travel throughout the country. I would much prefer to find a decent pub serving decent food that is probably well known locally but the stranger has no idea of its existence.
I mention this guide to all my friends and it deserves a wider audience. Through this guide, I found the Pot Kiln outside Newbury and then its sister pub called the Harwood Arms so close to my home. The latter is the first pub in London to get a Michelin star and it is well deserved. There are many others in the guide who have had my patronage.
Some of my friends are going to have this as a Christmas present this year and I hope it gives them as much joy as it gives me.

We've visited a couple of pubs and found them to be of a good standard. If the rest are as good, then this will prove to be an invaluable purchase
