A beautifully bound and presented book which I am returning today. I have previously bought Gill Holcombe's other titles which I have been happy with. This book is another matter. The author is clearly out of her depth here and cannot come up with new and stimulating ideas that sustain the brilliance of her first published book. I thumbed the book briefly and swiftly re-packaged it to send it back. That said, brilliant ordering, delivery and returns process by Amazon - as ever. One final thought; If you have purchased Holcombe's first two books, think carefully before ordering this latest effort as it might just disappoint you.

Eating and Cheating is just like the saying they say in blue peter 'heres the one i prepered earlyier'. It is full of easy and quick recipes that mothers and even children can enjoy cooking. There is a range of recipes from sweets, to hangover cures and it is perpect for last minute courses for dinner parties. It would benefit from pictures however there are drawings and decorations. In conclusion if you are one of those women who hate cooking then this is the perfect book for you.

I wasn't sure how navigable a Kindle recipe book would be, so I chose this one as an experiment! I have a much used paperback of another of Gill's cook books (How to Feed Your Whole Family...). Both books are excellent.

The Kindle version has chapters that can be access via the 'go to... table of contents'; the the full index is at the back 'go to... end' & go backwards to find it. All of the recipes in the index have proper links to their page. And popping the Kindle in a click-seal food bag makes it pretty kitchen proof. A success.
