'Food concepts by an eating designer'
I bought this as a random book for inspiration on food and creativity, after doing a bit of online research into graphic design cookbooks. It's not a cookbook in the conventional sense but a great use of graphics, art installations and designs using food.
The author is from the Netherlands and creates installations, art, projects and perfomances based on food. She has used the book to document the events with explanations and clever photography alongside quirky doodles.
She states: "Because I'm not just focussed on the aesthetics, I deliberately don't call myself a Food Designer but an Eating Designer. The food itself is already perfectly designed by nature, so there's hardly anything I have to add to it."

My favourite 'project' was long rows of food tables underneath lamps. These lamps provided the only light in the space and kept the food warm. Starting with a virgin white edible landscape the eaters created noise by digging up curries through rice with different colours and flavours.
To me, this is clever food art in a coffee-table book.
'Eating is a daily experience that needs attention, that asks for love. EAT LOVE testifies to that necessity.'
