‘Alternative medicine’s answer to Delia Smith.’ Daily Mail

Product Description

The Daily Mail positioned Linda Kearns as their ‘Delia of the Menopause’. This book has become a favourite of women wanting to experience menopause without troublesome symptoms or HRT

Linda Kearns’ ‘HRT cake’ and the success she and many other women were having with it led the Daily Mail to publish numerous features on her success creating delicious recipes with key ingredients to help women to stay happy and healthy through the menopause… the natural way.

Now thousands of women have overcome the symptoms of menopause using Linda Kearns special recipes which contain Phytooestrogens (the natural plant oestrogens present in such foods as soya and linseed) and Calcium rich ingredients to help maintain bone density – a key concern at this time of change. It makes for a reassuringly safe and natural way to have a healthy menopause without depending on HRT.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great change for the better, 13 Oct 2004

This review is from: Eat to Beat - Menopause: Over 100 recipes to help you overcome symptoms naturally (Paperback)
I found this book in my local library after being put on a diet of no dairy, no sugar and no yeast by my Chinese doctor, treating me for raised FSH, not because I was perimenopausal (I'm 39). I was delighted to discover that 99% of the recipes covered this dietary aspect and was equally delighted with the baking end of the book which gives recipes for delicious flapjack style snacks. I would be in a real state without this book as there's only so many oat biscuits I can stomach. My father liked the flapjacks so much that he went out and bought himself a copy!

This book is aimed at those women going through menopause. However, if you change your diet in your late 30s/early 40s to a non-dairy phytooestrogen-based diet, you probably won't even notice going through it. I am not a health freak but I have felt real benefits from changing my diet; no bloatedness, no water retention, no pmt, beautiful skin and bright white eyes. I thoroughly recommend this book to dairy intolerant people and particularly women approaching the menopause.
