I had one of these previously and loved the simplicity. I stupidly lent it to my daughter to take to college and that was the last I saw of it so when I spotted this one on Amazon I was really pleased. Very easy to use, just pour some boiling water into the bottom (about one third full) drop in the eggs, put the lid on and bung in the microwave for one minute. Let it stand for 30 seconds, drain the water and you have lovely healthy poached eggs.

I decided to opt for this microwave egg poacher in preference to the traditional poaching pans because I presumed it would be quicker, less fuss and easier to store and to be fair it is all these things. However, I've now used it several times and despite following the instructions carefully I've still failed to make the "perfect" poached eggs that the packaging claims. I'm not sure why this is - different sizes/ages of eggs? - but the results have been a bit rubbery (NOT loverly!) and the raised ridge around the inside of each container has left egg sticking to the bottom. I'm begining to wish I'd bought a traditional poaching pan after all...

Yes it does work very well but you do have to put time in and experiment with different times and power levels until its perfect. Worth doing tho as once you have it its perfect every time.

This works realy well, very pleased
