Product Description

Book Description

Her old Caprice is convulsing through the last of its death throes, her pet rabbit and constant companion Todd ails and, as usual, Lillian Byrd is broke. For a few extra bucks she agrees to help an old friend renovate her house, but as fans of Sims' previous novels have come to realise, nothing ever goes smoothly in the life of Lillian Byrd. By the end of the first day of the job there is a partially demolished wall, a mysterious stash of cash and a dead body.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lillian Byrd, Crime Solver, 14 Nov 2005
By Bett Norris - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Easy Street: A Lillian Byrd Crime Story (Paperback)
Lillian would approve that title, just as she would like to be like her hero Calico Jones, but Lillian is grounded in reality, at least sometimes. And if you have to be grounded, then reality is the better place to be stuck, right?
This series is delightful and original. Not many freelance crime solvers have pet rabbits who accompany them on many of their adventures. It is also very well written: an interview with the suspect's sister is both hilarious and touching. Lillian digs deeper, goes farther, risks more than before. But then, she is starting from a different place, a little lower down on the scale, a little closer to real desperation. Lillian may come out of this one a little harder than she was before. Elizabeth Sims owes us at least one more Lillian Byrd mystery, after what happens to Lillian in this one. You just have to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars When's the next one?, 13 Mar 2008
By K. Wittenberg "Nobleheart1012" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Easy Street: A Lillian Byrd Crime Story (Paperback)
Just finished this one last night, thinking there would be another after it, but alas, not yet. Guess I'll just have to get The Actress when it hits the bookshelves this spring. The Lillian Byrd mysteries are great bedtime reading... if you don't have to get up early the next morning. Had to finish this one, or I wouldn't have been able to sleep. Great plotline, I love Todd <sigh> the story really moves along. I love reading about places in Detroit where I've been or go, keeps it interesting for sure.

Keep 'em coming!

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing!, 28 Dec 2007
By April Gange "justa fan" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Easy Street: A Lillian Byrd Crime Story (Paperback)
Between the slight humor, the gripping suspense, and the touching relationships that bring these characters to life, I could not put this book down. It is another perfect addition to the Lillian Byrd series. I am filled with anticapation for the next great adventure!
