I bought this book as I am due to go on Hajj Inshallah. One of the first suggestions is that one leaves the family at home before departing the airport so as not to make a fuss which is fair enough. The author then goes on to state that bringing the family to the airport to say good bye may result in haram activities like photography. The author also states that in Mecca, women should pray in their hotel rooms rather than in the mosque due to the risk of them being touched. He also quotes that, "the situation gets to such a level of chaos in the Harem of Mecca that maybe someone may rule that the men should stay at home due to fear of being overridden by women".
So if you are the type of muslim who thinks that photography is Haram (forbidden) and if you think that having made the effort to go to Hajj, you should pray in your hotel room rather than the grand mosque in Mecca then go ahead and buy this book. I am sure there are many useful bits of advice in this book but I cannot take such books seriously. I have no doubt about the sincerity of the brother who wrote this book but if you are going to sell something then I believe someone who has paid money for it has a duty to give their opinion on it as well.
