3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but lots of unhealthy stuff in here. 4 Jan 2014

I agree 100% that it's a great idea to get kids involved in preparing healthier choices to consume, and this book does aid in that chore. However there are lots of unhealthful ingredients in these recipes including lots of sugar. I don't object to some sugar -- I'm not a health food freak by any means -- but it seems counterproductive to the book's mission, which is "get kids off sugar and unhealthy fats and junk food in general". I agree that a fruit and milk-based shake is more healthy than a Twinkie, even if the shake does have added sugar. It's just that many of the recipes in this book are more like healthier desserts than they are healthy diet choices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Recipes. 28 Jan 2014

The recipes are easy to follow and many use commonly purchased ingredients. I will try some in the near future.
5.0 out of 5 stars I'm excited for my kid!she'll love this 28 Aug 2014

I think "high in sugar" is very relative. For me a tablespoon or two would not be bad but the key here is looking at the other ingredients as well because some of them has innate sugar already so wont be needing much additional sweetener. What I love about the recipes are its very easy yet its offering some twists. Personally i preferred the strawberry sensation.. its wiggling my taste buds.. i love it. I was not aware i could put some guava extracts on my juice. That was nice. Ill make the other recipes mostly for my kid. I know she'll enjoy this. exciting!
5.0 out of 5 stars A really great variety of smoothies 15 May 2014

If you only want to buy one smoothie recipe book, this would certainly be a winner. The smoothies are easy to prepare, include a great variety of common ingredients, and they sound really delicious. Nice colorful photos in recipe books are definitely an added bonus. The photos in this book will definitely whet your appetite. Get ready to enjoy smoothies.

Finally a smoothie book that doesn't require ingredients I can't find, say, or spell! This book is awesome and a great recipe guide for me. It was totally worth the money!
