Having travelled in France for the last decade and used both Michelin maps and smaller scale road atlases I would say unreservedly THIS IS THE ONE TO GET! The scale is large enough so that you can actually navigate properly (especially those restricted access junctions onto Routes National!) The binding is strong enough so that it will survive for several weeks on holiday. The format is large - but not so unwieldy that you can't open it in a car (try that with a Michelin map!)
The fonts, colours and layout of the maps are easier on the eye than, say, Michelin - more like a UK road atlas. (I'm not a Michelin basher - I just find their maps best for planning and not so good for navigation)
My only quibble - unlike UK road atlases - there isn't always a lot of overlap between pages. But then again France is big and at 250+ pages already more overlaps would create a bit of a tome!
Definitely the one if you're driving anywhere off the motorway!
