Good but not great 19 July 2011
By Jopey
Format:Paperback
This book has some good ideas in it for party food, but I found the cakes to be fairly simple and not that many ideas in there. It may be good for a complete beginner in the cake-making game, but I've done a few already, so probably should have gone for something with a few more challenging ideas in it. Saying that, it's a nice book and good value.

Great rainy day book! 30 Aug 2010
By Ludz
Format:Paperback
I love making kids cakes, and have lots of books that my daughters choose birthday designs from. This book is a bit different, as it includes chapters on drinks, savouries, desserts etc, all for parties.

At the end of the summer, on bank holiday Monday, my daughters decided to have a party for their toys - as you do! - and this book fit the bill. They designed the menu, wrote out the ingredients they'd need, we all shopped for the ingredients, then spent a happy day making jewel biscuits, witches brew, wormy mud, sausage rolls, butterfly cakes and fruit dipped in chocolate. All very easy for children to read and follow, all delicious & successful, and the ingredients not too pricey either!
