In my seventies I have taken up knitting again after years of not doing any. The advent of a number of great nieces and nephews prompted this. At first I was disconcerted to find how few patterns there were to buy singly - John Lewis Oxford Street had a particularly poor selection of dog eared items. So I bought this book, and have used it for several garments which have been received warmly. The instructions are clear, the illustrations tempting and there are useful tips on finishing and pressing. However, I did think there were too many patterns for accessories including toys and novelty items - nothing wrong with them but they took up space which I would have preferred to be given to garments. And why no fair isle.

Loved this book. I am fairly beginner standard trying to move beyond scarves! Have managed to complete the sleeveless sweater. Have to say it looks fantastic although loads of mistakes and my son loves wearing it. I found the instructions quite clear with a bit of checking the glossary etc.

Got this at the Library, but wanted my own copy as the designs are beautiful and stylish for children. would recommend for knitters of all levels

Basic but nice knits
Quite a nice book with good pictures of the garments. I love the swing cardigan on page 56 but overall I think the rest of the patterns are a little old fashioned for me. Read more

Not happy
Never been received. Used a delivery Company that suggested I pay them £5 for picking a day to deliver as I was out the first time.
