I bought 2 of these safety gates for my new house. However, when i actually moved in i realised that one of my doorways wasn't standard size at 30 inches, but it was 27 inches. This was my own fault for not checking the sizes! My standard doorway accommodates this stairgate well, but it is important that buyers are aware that due to the gate fitting 29.5-32.5 inches, a standard 30 inches doorway is a very tight fit. But it will fit, so dont give up! It just takes a bit of hard work.
The gate itself is excellent: it has a swing shut door which closes itself after someone walks through, and it can be opened either way. Also, because the gate is a pressure fix, it's simple to move around the house if necessary. It's easy to clean and the white colour is well matched to my decorating! All in all, its a great buy!

Well constructed and very easy to use. No tools required to set the gate up, and once you have set it up its easy to move around if you need to. We moved it twice to different rooms for our own purposes and had no difficult setting it up. We had to put it in a room with laminate flooring and a wooden trim stuck to the skirting board, although one of the edges overlapped this trim we were concerned it wouldn't hold, but our daughter tested this out to her full extent! :-) No amount of pushing or pulling on the gate would budge it. Gate locks itself (you just close the gate), and press the latch to open. operates very easily, even my mother in law (who is of advanced age) found it easy to operate.
A very good buy, good price, optional extensions available (separate purchase required for these) to fit wider areas and very easy to use.

Had previously purchased easy fit plus and was very happy. Thought easy fit premium sounded like a good design. As with previous stairgate it was very easy to put in place and felt secure. The one hand easy opening was as it said very easy.
I like the idea that the gate closes behind you, however found in practice it was difficult at the top of the stairs. It may be because my stairgate is new, but I find you need a lot of force to keep the gate open as you go through. It tries to snap back at you, and if you hold the baby/child to low will also try to get them!
I also don't like only being able to have it shut. Recently trying to bring suitcases down stairs was a two person job, and anything that needs two hands to carry is dificult.
For these reasons am going to replace this product with easy fit plus.
