As the title says, there are 50 pieces of music in this collection.

The pieces are graded, becoming gradually more challenging towards the end of the book, so that players of all abilities will find this book very rewarding.

Even the simplest pieces sound quite impressive, especially when played by the author, and there are none of the usual cheesy "Twinkle twinkle little star" type tunes here. They are all quality pieces that any classical guitarist would be happy to play.

The real bonus is the CD that comes with the book. Not only does it let you know how the pieces should sound, but it is a wonderful audio CD in its own right. The quality is first class, and it is a real pleasure to listen to at any time, whether you are using it for practice purposes or just for chilling out to.

This book should be in everybody's collection.

just what I needed 1 Dec 2006
Format:Paperback
I've been playing guitar for quite a few years and like a lot of people I'm self taught which meant learning the chord patterns and then picking up tunes by ear. What I wanted was a book which contained some simple pieces which I could use to practice reading tablature and expand my classical repertoire beyond the tunes I've worked out by ear. This book contains no instruction in playing or reading tablature. The tunes are well chosen and start at a very easy level, progressing to some pleasant intermediate pieces worth playing for pleasure as well as practice. It's invaluable to have the CD as you can check you've got your timing and expression right (especially if you are relying completely on the tab). If you are like me this book should be perfect. If you are a complete beginner you'll need a different sort of book. If you are a more advanced player who can already sight read standard notation or tab then you might find the peices too easy.

Just the job 14 April 2009
Format:Paperback
Brought this as an intermediate player and have been delighted. Great for providing a good source of level 2 to 3 material. Tab makes it quicker to learn & easy to play.

Handy and useful to help move on with practice. CD is good to listen to and helps with timing Probably better for the player who is not just starting out.
