I am using these seeds in with my breakfast cereal and have used them(ground)in scones.I haven't been using them long enough to make any comment about their health claims, but, the friend who recommended them to me says they work for her?
They may appear to be pricey, but a little goes a long way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good book! 9 Jun. 2013

Wow! "the authors serious errors about sugar?" What are you talking about? Okay, I guess I'll give you that by general association, agave and coconut are sugars, but my goodness, equating them to processed, white sugar??! That is just preposterous! Now, I'm no expert, but I do I eat a lot of sugar, be it processed, organic, coconut, agave, honey, what have you. But I do certainly try and follow what is healthiest for me (obviously I should limit "sugars" in general, lol, but I digress.) Agave, honey, fruits, and Coconut are so much more natural and easier on our bodies digestive process than is processed white sugar, and/or high-fructose corn syrup.

As for the authors claim of "sugarless." He is correct. They are without sugar. Now, if he would have claimed the recipes were "unsweetened," why then you would have a hell of a point. But he didn't, he said "sugarless." Which is also what every single advertiser out there who uses alternative sweeteners also says....

As for the recipes, I've only tried a couple so far, but they were pretty darn good! I am definitely excited to try more!

P.S. I guess there is the typo mix-up about oiling a loaf pan for muffins, but sheesh...ebook was only .99 cents, lol. I didnt even notice that!! haha Its kind of funny actually..

1.0 out of 5 stars Cannot ignore this author's ignorance about sugar 22 May 2013

Silly and serious errors. Chia Seed Muffins: Why lightly oil a small loaf pan when we're making muffins?
The author says "These recipes will be sugarless ...". Coconut palm sugar IS sugar as is agave syrup.
Coconut sugar is about 85% sucrose ... about the same as white sugar.
"Agave nectar or syrup is as high as 90% concentrated fructose (a simple sugar that occurs naturally in fruit), and the rest glucose. But the agave you can buy ranges from 90% to as little as 55% fructose (similar to high-fructose corn syrup), depending on the processing, says Roger Clemens, professor at the University of Southern California and a spokesman for the Institute of Food Technologists."

1.0 out of 5 stars Easy chia seed recipes 10 July 2013

Dislike. This is not a helpful book. I thought that there would be innovative recipes but the author should just disclose that they added chia seeds in various quantities to many recipes than decided to "claim" them as their own... this is not a helpful book. Don't waste your hard earned money. I'm so disappointed!! /:
