A baker's dozen of projects are what you will get in this book on cable knits. It begins with seven pages of basic instructions in case you need to refresh any techniques. Then there are two hat/scarf patterns and nine various types of sweaters --- capelet, shell or sweater.
Both front and back cover has a plasticized "fold over" for making the page you are working on. It is not ring bound so you will need a weight to keep the book open while you work. Each project has a skill level and gives the size of the item, the materials needed, the suggested needles size used and a gauge to try so you know you will come up with the right size when you make the item.
Hopefully, you can work with charts rather than written instructions as every pattern uses charts. In my basic classes, charts were not taught so this will not be a book for me. The color photos of the items are well done and the print is a good size for older eyes.
If you aren't familiar with reading charts, find yourself a class or ask a more experienced knitter for a tutorial. Then, grab a copy and knit yourself up several sweaters or scarves for yourself or gifts.
