This is the book that I ALWAYS get new knitting parents and grandparents to buy. It has a clear consise how to section with good photos.
There is the obligatory baby scarf (I don't understand why they have one in a baby book). There is a pair of bootees/socks knitted on two needles without any picking up of stitches and only one seam to sew up.
I have great success with this with new knitters. All the yarns are easily substituted is unavailable in your area.The patterns are fairly basic but do wonders for installing confidence to new knitters

I was so looking forward to receiving this book and to be honest I was really disappointed when it arrived. The patterns are not that useful - who needs or wants a knitted bib?? Who would put their baby in a scarf? The quality of the knitted finished items in pretty poor, I am a amatuer knitter and I think my finishing is better. I would recommend a Debbie Bliss book over and above this one. I had such high hopes for it and sadly I have not knitted a single item in the book.
