Amazing 12 Jan. 2009
By L. F. S. Donoso - Published on
Format: Paperback
The book is amazing. It allows you understanding certainly the culture of the island, its history and its people as well. The photographs are so powerful that is going to be difficult stop looking at them. One of the best book about Easter Island, I have ever seen. It has a very good portable size.

Wonderful 31 July 2009
By Tomas Larrain - Published on
Format: Paperback
I really enjoyed this book. You can clearly see that the writer knows what he is talking about. One of its most remarkable features is that it was written with quality and by a writer who obviously has been in touch with the island culture for a while, knowing how to do the difference between mythology and objective facts. I certainly recommend it.

Very interesting and beautiful book. 6 May 2011
By J. Kaulen - Published on
Format: Paperback
I've been in the island, and this book really represents and tell things about the culture and history of the place. I think that is very well writen and for a person who doesn't been there is a good way to learn a lot about Easter Island. Also if you want to go there, it would be a very good idea if you read it before, you'll be much more prepared.
I really recomend the book, is interesting, it has very beautiful pictures and you can learn a lot about the history of this place.

Excellent book ! 31 Jan. 2010

Excellent book about this wonderful island, perhaps the most famous in the world because of its mystery.
The pictures are so good and the text is so clear that I recommned the book for someone who is interested in Easter Island by the history, the geography and legend even if the island has not been visisted by first time. This book is an invitation for visiting this remote place in our planet. Enjoy it !!

Nice but pricey 6 April 2011

I've been to beautiful Easter Island and was looking for a book that would a nice memory of that special trip. The two main disappointments of this book for me were its small size and price. It's 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 with a paper cover and about 123 pages of text and pictures. The price was an amazing $33.49. I was expecting a lot more for a book of that price. The cover has a glossy picture that wraps about 1/4 of the way onto the back cover. The rest of the back cover is just plain picture or text. There are a lot of pictures that give a great representation of the sites of the island but again, I expected a book with this price tag to have slick pages and glossy pictures. This is not the case here. Maybe $10 for this book would be the right price. It looks like the book has a decent history of the island but I decided to return it because of the high price. If you don't mind spending $33.49 for a book like this, you might be pleased. I'm still looking for that book on Easter Island that will do this remarkable location justice.
