Fantastic! 23 April 2011
By Kiera
Format:Paperback
Wonderful book wirtten clearly and in depth.

Fantastic diagrams and pictures each with sources. The sources are often from scientfic journals so invaluable if you want/need to look up/research the topic in more detail. His sources show the book is very up to date and incoporates research seemlessly into the textbook

Book contains 2 parts. Part one is geological knowlegde e.g. chapters on plate tectonics, minerals, environments, life evoloution, Chemical cycles. Part two is 9 chapters of geological time e.g. a chapter on the Hadean and Archean, a chapter on the 'Neogene world'

Only negative is the paleogeographic case studies are all US based - but that is it! I can not recomend this enough!

Very Good Book 10 Dec 2010
By Ben
Format:Paperback
Great Book, really like it. It is full of very useful information and very interesting layed out in an easy to read interesting way. Takes me a long time to do my work as the book is full of other very interesting facts/pictures (pictures especially) that are very interesting and awesomely distracting. Great book, well worth the money, very helpful.

This is an excellent introduction to the subject. I taught aspects of Earth system history for many years in the University sector. Clear, informative and very well presented.
