Bliss? 14 Jun 2002

This CD, unlike J.B's later work 'Moving Through Here' is essentially one large soundscape split by track numbers that do little to the overall effect, and that is one of tranquility and calm. I don't think I could properly emphasise the music on Earth and Nightfall without sounding like an over-eager young journalist who is itching to fill a space with superlatives, however, the journey through music here is worthy of gushing praise. Without ever slipping into the overly 'beaty' trap that later releases suffered (slightly) from, the tempo on this is never raised above a level that would see you forced to move with it. The sound of sunsets and underwater nighttime, and a superb soundtrack to any kind of nocturnal activity. If you can get it, get it, and enjoy

That's how I sum up this exemplary album from Michigan based electronic ambient techno pioneer John Beltran. I had bought this album in '96 at a dodgy emotional time in my life & this album really reached to me on an almost sub-conscious level. The beauty of 'Mutualism','Dawn' & 'Anticipation' all beautifully melanged into a sultry 10mins of blissfull ambience.Angelic female vocals, atmospheres & beats(after all,it is a techno album). It's just beautiful. All other tracks stand in their own right as almost classics in their emotive expression. This man is really saying something to all u 'Head' people!! Hear what he has to say....BUY THIS album!!
