Earth Volume.6 is a worthy drive time or back ground music companion, its overall sound takes you on a journey thats not to be missed.
Bukem has a style not match by many and like a lot of his other work, this cd does take you on a journey if your Mind allows it too.
The intro starts off with a Dreamy bass-line and guitar mix that quicky changes into a slower laid back mellow floating relaxed almost jazzy style care free tune, then the beat changes into a sax up beat number with sliding piano music that adds a new flavour and in the end the tune becomes a foot tapping dance track,a trumpet kicks in then to change the mood again.
There is a Jazz Ellemant in this cd thats not to be missed.
Overall it gets better a better the more you listen to it.
Perfect leisure lounge music with nice bass-line,piano,drum,and so much more....Cheers to LTJ may the journey continue 09/10

Earth has always been known for bringing a lot of avant garde music to people who may have not heard it. LTJ Bukem brings together some rather cool artists and their best tracks for a cool 74 minute mix of Drumn n Bass.
But whats this? Whats happened? LTJ seems to have brought us trip hop. OK, so some of you will be disapointed - LTJ is known for his ambient dnb, so whats goin' on. I'll tell you - LTJ has moved onto a different level, and the nature of this compilation, being avant garde is ahead of the times. This is also true about the label which brings you this compilation - Good Looking Records. Great tracks come from Marcel, ESP & Substance and Mono Deluxe. Tracks that stand out to me are ESP & Substance's "run the gauntlet" and "Jealous" by Marcel.
One thing I can say is that this album is different from the other Earth compilations. Thought they all follow a trend, they all have a cool soundtrack. I'd definately suggest this one for chilling out - its nice on the ears and hypnotising. I'd recomend this to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons in the arena of electronica.

Eh 3 stars 22 May 2003
By T. Snyder - Published on Amazon.com

I own a couple LTJ Bukem cd's so bought this one on name alone. Granted this isn't a collection of HIS songs but the styles on this album are very similar to his stuff and he seems to have exquisite taste. So it's a good cd overall, but just nothing to get terribly excited about - he's done better before. Still, it's good background/chillout/late night listening music. Overall though, 3 stars which is still better than most "electronica" cds out there.
Check out Journey Inward if you're interested in a good preview of his work...

Not one of his better CDs 3 Oct. 2003

I admit I haven't bought any of Bukems CDs since Progession Session Vol 5, but I was quite disappointed to find out that this CD is not even Jungle. This CD is more of an ecletic mix of chill out breaks at about 120 BPMs (certainly not the 170 you expect to hear on a jungle CD). This CD is more like jazzy lounge music. It's not a terrible CD, just not at all what I expected.
