Product Description

Review

"Well written with clear signposting provided to learners in order that they can extend their research around the subject beyond the material provided. The aims of the work are challenging but are met in a way which sets this apart from other material on the market. There is something here for all learners." (Caroline McGrath, Lecturer Early Childhood Studies, City of Bristol College)

"Overall I found it up-to-date, written at the correct level, balancing theory with reflective practice and covering the main debates. So 'thank you' to Dr Veale!" (Fiona Martin, Guernsey College of FE)

"These are the best authors in the field for each chapter and, therefore, this book is a very valuable resource." (Gillian Gresham, Cambridge Regional College)

This book is full of essential reading for any Early Years student. The chapters are specific, current and easy to read, whilst also linking to the revised EYFS 2012. It's clearly laid out and very thought provoking due to the reflective tasks and excellent case studies. I highly recommend that this book needs to be on every Early Years professionals book shelf, even if they are not students because the learning from the book is everything every practitioner needs to know to provide outstanding care and education for all children in their provision. Excellent book.....the bright and groovy front cover with dancing children gives the book the modern touch and this resonates throughout the book.

Highly recommended :-)

I have only used the book for one unit so far but it was really helpful for referencing and helping me make a point. Also helpful for wider reading.
My unit was safeguarding and Dr Veale made it really clear to understand and helped me find inspiration and a true interest in the topic to help make improvements to my practice.

This has been an excellent resource for my wife who is completing her Level 5 Working with Families and Children HND. Full of up to date information and theory, that is expressed in a easy to understand way. Nicely presented.
