In 1957 I was 15 years old watching Six-Five-Special then the first and only British Rock n Roll TV Show. A great singer came on and sang Be My Girl. This was Jim Dale in my opinion Britain's answer to Elvis Presley. I bought `Be My Girl' on a 78-rpm record. From then on I bought all his records Crazy Dream/Just Born and even Jane Belinda that I believe was named after his newly born first daughter. I joined the Jim Dale fan club and to this day I still have the young singers framed photograph on my study wall. Every so often I get out and play Jims big old scratchy 78's. Now I have found them all on CD and can play them as I drive along in my motor home. For you youngsters who only know Jim from the Carry on films and later aspects like the Broadway stage you are missing out. Buy this CD and get an authentic early Rock n Roll experience.
