Product Description

Product Description

'this is not what I planned for my life or how I thought it would be' In January 2005 Laura McDonald found herself in a place she never expected to be. Upon discovering her husband's unfaithfulness and witnessing the end of her marriage, she found herself in the face of shattered hopes and broken dreams, where the only words in her head were 'my life is over'. Eagle's Wings is her story through the struggles with fear, failure, self-hatred, depression and helplessness. From a place of brokenness to a place of wholeness; discovering God who loves and cares about the most finite details of our life. In this journey of discovery Laura has found that life is not over, In fact, it has only just begun. Now, in a place of new hopes and dreams, laughter can be heard and the words now resound loud and clear 'the best is yet to be!' This book shares the journey to freedom for her body, soul and mind. In the story and poems she has written your heart will be touched. It offers encouragement and hope to everyone who feels like giving up when their faith is on the ropes. Laura serves as a praise and worship leader at East Gate Church in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland. You can contact Laura through her website.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Testimony of the keeping and transforming power of God's grace, 3 Jan 2011

This book is raw!

A mixture of poetry and testimony and is ideal for both Christians and non-Christians.

In summary the book is an authentic story of hope as an anchor in the midst of a storm, beauty in the midst of ashes and healing in the midst of painful times. Most of all the book is about God's faithfulness and the sobering truth that God does not promise to keep us out of trials but keeps us in the trials.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lauras book, 24 Oct 2006

Ms. L. Walls "Lou" (Sunny Scotland) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Eagle's Wings: Learning To Soar (Paperback)
I read this book from front cover to back in 2 hours and could not put it down. It really is amazing. The story and the poems will touch your heart on so many levels there is something in them for everyone. If you are looking for something when your faith is low and you don't believe gods promises this is it. You will be amazed and astounded at what god has done in Laura's life and you will realise he can do it in yours too. My mother, a non Christian woman, also read the book in 3 hours without putting it down. In her own words she got addicted from the preface She too loved the book and was amazed. So if you are a Christian or not you will really enjoy this book even if you don't believe the God part of it you will see things could be worst in your life and that you can recover from brokenness. There is a seed of hope for everyone within this story. May god bless you all !
