Product Description

After the collapse of the Manchu Dynasty, the surviving officials plan to restore order across China. One of these men, Silver Fox (Hwang Jang Lee, the villian from 'Drunken Master'), hires the best fighters in the country to assasinate those who were responsible for the revolution and destroy all kung fu schools. To combat this menace, the various schools band together and nominate Chow Fung, master of the Eagle style, to face the might of the Silver fox in a one-on-one bone breaking showdown.

New folks to Kung Fu Theater may want to wade through some stronger titles before taking this one on. 16 May 2009
By Gregory Dyer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
There's usually a pre-requisite to being dubbed the "Silver Fox" in Kung Fu theater. Not only must you be evil... or naughty, but you must master your Kung Fu to the point where one opponent isn't enough to take you on. Then if one man is dumb enough to go at you solo, you toy with him endlessly before dangling his life before your eyes and then taking it. Hwang Jang Lee's version of the villain is no different albeit younger than your standard Silver Fox.

The Silver Fox is stealing "secret messages" from the Shaolin monks in order to revive his fallen Manchu empire. In doing this he happens to kill two important men whose survivors have sworn revenge against him. One of these survivors is saved by a dying monk who teaches him a deadly version of the Eagle Claw technique. When the two strangers meet, they realize that not only do they share the destiny of revenging the Silver Fox but also that they are betrothed and forever bound by destiny.

Horrible dubbing and annoying voices plague Eagle vs Silver Fox, but this is not to say that the Kung Fu and the story wasn't good. I started off wondering if this was going to end up on my crap list but then the kung fu slowed down and the story started to present itself. The main actor and actress have a beautiful chemistry and their acting is actually pretty damn good. Add in the comedy of the Silver Fox's cockiness and you have quite a movie in this one. However I cannot put the weight of the acting and story over the crappy sets and horrible, horrible picture and dubbing so I would say watch it only if you are a die-hard. New folks to Kung Fu Theater may want to wade through some stronger titles before taking this one on.

groundzero and godfrey ho. That should be enough to steer you clear of this, but it was so bad, it actually was good in a way 15 July 2006

The hero is actually a pretty good actor and his kung fu skills I would put him right up there with that guy from Masters of tiger Crane. Though he doesn't show a lot of power, his form is really good. Hwnag Jang Lee (Silver Fox) choreographed the action in this so you do have like 20 second moments where the fu is good.

But again, this is a godfrey ho movie. You have Hwang Jang Lee and NOBODY else. In most kung fu flicks you will recognize at lest one other guy. In this one we get Hwang and some guy who can kick alright. But the 2 or 3 fights with Silver Fox are actually kind of good. Even if he does look almost as stupid as he did in Martial Monks of the Shaolin Temple, he still looks kind of cool. So I would rank this just behind Dragon on Fire on a list of the best movies from the talentless Godfrey Ho.

Also teh dubbing in a Ho movie doesn't get any better, or worse I mean.

The pictrue quality is bad and full screened. Still, worth a watch.

Silver Fox is at it again. 2 Jun 2001
By Erik James - Published on Amazon.com
Hwang Jang Lee Plays the role of the evil Manchurian lord "Silver Fox." In search of a secret letter from shaolin to the south He kills many men, but one gets away. That one man with the help of a dying monk and a pick pocket he wages war on the Silver Fox and all his minnions. one by one he hunts each one of Silver Fox's Men until he finally gets his shot to avenge his family and country. Hwang Jang lee while playing the Main villian only appears briefly compared to other films he is still amazing. Good fights, Good styles, Good film.
