Product Description

Home Accounts helps you manage your personal finances by keeping track of your bank accounts and identifying what you spend your money on. Home Accounts uses a simple form of double-entry bookkeeping that lets you record any payment or receipt against any income, expenditure, asset or liability account. An analysis of your transactions then shows you at a glance exactly what you spent your money on.

Bank Accounts
Create unlimited bank accounts for your cheque, savings and credit card accounts.

See at a glance what your bank account balances are and what standing orders and direct debits you have due for posting.

Use the account reconciliation screen to check what you've entered in the software agrees with your paper bank statement.

Import transactions from file using QIF and CSV file formats exported from your on-line banking site.

Categories
Create unlimited income and expense categories and sub-categories to analyse where your money comes from and where it goes to!

Create unlimited accounts for your assets and liabilities and see at any time what your net worth is.

Automated Entries
Set up automated entries for your standing orders and direct debits. Automated entries can be for any frequency and can be for a fixed number of postings or can be set to run until further notice.

Budget for future spending
Set yourself a budget for any or all of your categories. Budgets are used to predict future spending and to compare actual spending against. See how your spending is doing against your budget in the "Spending Tracker".

Home Accounts is produced in the UK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent 21 Aug. 2011
I have been using Quicken 2002 for the last nine years and had no problems until it decided not to work so had to look for a new package. Looked at many different ones and narrowing them down and finally decided upon "Home Accounts". It works completely differently to Quicken, but only took a short time to get a basic understanding from the instructions, then started to input data. It is very easy to use once you have the basic knowledge and confidence increases, and as a 66 year young user others should have no problem. The automatic entries are better than Quicken as is the Budget. This is very good, and you can also see how you are progressing with expenditure against budget with the "Spending Tracker", which as data is built up you can use to adjust your budget. In conclusion I am very glad that I have changed and would recommend it to any one serious about keeping accurate records.

4.0 out of 5 stars JAS home accounts review 23/6/12 23 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase
Needed some software to replace M/S money on changing computer - this seemed v good value compared to other products in the marketplace - so far I've found it nearly as good as Money in most respects - one problem I've found is if you enter a transaction and then want to split it later or input later more lines for an existing split entry you can't - other than that it's fine so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars EZPZ Home Accounts 27 May 2011
Having retired recently I needed to analyse our spending more closely and this software package is proving to be ideal for my purposes. It really is easy to use with a good help section. I also keep records of income and expenses for two rental properties and a property abroad. I really am pleased with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Home Acc by ezpz 18 Feb. 2012
Verified Purchase
First of all don't be put off by the negative reviews I my self have been looking for a Home Acc program to run on Windows 7 for about a year now, as a lot of you will no older programs will not run on Windows 7. I have been running my Money Matters Acc program on a old laptop with Windows XP but its a pain getting it out just for the Acc program. So I decided to try Home Accounts and I was pleasantly suprised how good it was for £20.00 (including post & packing)All the negative reveiws don't reflect on the price,it's not a all singing & dancinging progam but it dose what it says on the tin,if you have a good basic knowledge how to use your PC it will be fine.Their are alot of features in this progam which I am very please with, I suggest you read the User manual 1st which is on the CD in PDF format you also have the help feature in the program if you get stuck while setting up yor data. You can set up D/Debits S/Orders etc New Acc, 3 Digit Codes for things that repeat its self (ie useing your Debit Card in the same store week after week)As I said look at the manual see the sample enteries and it will be fine,I have no regrets on spending £20.00 on this progam. If your looking for a Home acc program give this a go.

3.0 out of 5 stars Home Accountz is Ok but.... 8 Dec. 2011
This is Ok as far as it goes. It is lacking one major function which other (now deceased) packages had - that is the ability to change an automatic transaction (like a quarterly telephone bill) when you get told the precise date and amount. It seems the only way you can do this is by changing the automatic transaction itself - snag is that this then uses the same amount and date for all the future bills that you expect from that source. That's no good when you get a higher or lower than normal bill but dont want to make this the amount used in all your future forecasts. Seems odd they didnt include this function when all the other packages had it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Home Accounts EZPZ 21 Sept. 2011
By tupance
The software is a good accounting system if you know how to set it up at the beginning, But it will not down load your bank statement onto its software so you can check if you have entered all your entries correctly, or let you put together graphs showing the future payments letting you see how your account is going to be in three or six months time etc.

This system only shows graphs of past payments witch have already happened, and are no good for future forecasting.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not brilliant but it does do what it claims 16 Jan. 2012
By EykeBoy
I used Quicken for nearly 20 years but now I am forced to find a substitute. This does seem to work though the way its forecast doesn't start until the next day is a bit irritating when I have been used to Quicken's Calendar showing as far back as you want to look, also you can only monitor one account at a time not the over all position. Some other things make it seem seriously out of date, such as one of the listed Accounts is "Rates" which have been called Council Tax for many years, there are Business Rates but this is supposed to be Home Accounts. Does make you wonder when this was written

So it does in a clunky way do what it says but isn't much better than writing your own Spreadsheets.

What a pity that Intuit abandoned Britain
