Unlike other phone-holding products available for your bike, RAM's offering is moulded specifically to the shape of the iPhone. As a result, it feels extremely secure - the phone clips into place and is held there from all sides, so there's no way it's going to jump free. Despite using zip-ties to attach the socket to the handlebars rather than a screwing mechanism, it manages to stay in place without sliding around, thanks to the adhesive rubber backing provided. Some damping of road vibration even takes place, thanks to the ball-and-socket style in which the mount itself attaches to its socket, while keeping the mount held securely - you have to rotate it to almost 90 degrees to remove it.
All in all, I'd recommend this, and I say this as someone who tried a competing product and didn't trust it!

Does exactly what it was meant to. Hold the iPhone in place on a bike.
The phone snaps in and is heald very secure. Having bumped up and down many kerbs this wasnt going anywhere!
Only down side is that this leaves the iphone open to the elements do not use if it is raining, even a little.
You can remove the iphone and the case together with a simple push and turn motion.
Main down side would be that once the fixing bracket is on the bike using the cable ties you would need to replace them if you wanted to move the whole thing to a new bike.
Over all worth getting, works great on google maps as a satnav at a fraction of the cost when used with a 3g iphone.

Fits OK to be stem. Not a perfect fit but very secure. When the phone is attached it is very secure. Removing the phone requires a little knack. You need to rock the case back when twisting it to unlatch it. This wasn't obvious to me and took a day of frustration before I figured it out. Other than that, its pretty good case. The tabs protect the case front when lying face down. Minus 1 star only because you need to use a zip-lock bag for rain protection.

RAM bike mount for iPhone
I've used this quite a few times now on MTB rides. It holds the iPhone very securely (as you would expect from a RAM product) and lets you use GPS software very effectively. Read more
