Have now had this PC for just over a week and if like me you formerly had a box and a screen with bits of wire everywhere you will find a huge improvement. It is fast has loads of memory and HD storage which you will probably never use up unless you insist on keeping hundreds of documents or photos on board and the screen is fab. I suppose I may add some extra RAM at some point but not in the near future. If you do need more storage, it will be relatively easy of course to add a removeable hard drive to plug into one of the 5 USB slots. I bought it because of the excellent price which Amazon are currently (Jan 2011) offering. I have not yet attempted to use any of the Eee facilities which Asus give you but that is not why I bought it. I also dumped the Trend Micro anti-virus stuff which comes with it and changed to Avast which I am far more familiar with but it didn't take too long. I only have two slightly adverse comments: 1. If you are not reasonably expert with a PC you may have some initial difficulties because they don't give you an "easy start" instruction booklet. 2. It is quite a bit heavier than say your average laptop so if you need to keep moving around you may struggle if you are not too strong; against that however, you do get a significantly larger screen.
Need to add a further comment now that I have had it for a few more days:- There is in fact a very comprehensive manual on the hard disk but they don't tell you this in the paperwork which comes with the box.

I got this like-new-second-hand from Amazon's warehouse. Saved about £200. The touchscreen had dead spots and places where it was very inaccurate. I'm guessing this is why it was returned and resold cheaper. Anyway after a quick google, an article suggested cleaning the screen (esp. the top corners). That fixed it. Must be the way optical touch screens work.

The PC itself is plenty fast enough (Dual Core 2.8) and has plenty of HDD storage (1TB) and RAM (4GB). The 24" 1080p screen is beautiful and the dual touch touchscreen works very well.

Keyboard is functional but the mouse is a bit small and basic. I'm using my full size wired mouse instead.

Sound is pretty good but not very loud. The dynamic range is pretty good and bass is very clear.

There is an external power brick but it's not that big considering the PC it is powering.

By default Intel Speedstep is disabled (in the BIOS). I have enabled it and changed the Windows 7 Performance profile to Balanced. This allows the PC to run cooler and the already quiet fan to run slower.

Included ASUS software is pretty good. Eee Paint is fun for my little guy to play with and Eee Cinema is good for navigating your media with the touchscreen. Media Center also works pretty well with touchscreen.

The stand is pretty basic but I'm looking at replacing it with a VESA desk mount (Ergotron MX). VESA mount is 100x100 type.

My model doesn't have the HDMI and VGA in so make sure to check the model if this is important to you. There are 3 USB 2.0 on back and 2 on the side. There's also headphone and microphone on the side and an SD/MMC card reader. 10/100/1000 LAN is on the back too.

The built in microphone seems to work okay in Skype as does the builtin webcam.
