I already have a pair of the Aktimate Mini speakers for my PC (they are excellent - look at these too) and was looking for something more chunky for my conservatory that would stream internet radio, so the Maxis seemed to be the chaps.
I ordered through Superfi on Thursday morning and they arrived Friday morning - beat that, and they were half price...
Setup is relatively straightforward; I would recommend READING THE INSTRUCTIONS for a change - there is very little in the way of an interface unless you squint to see the LCD screen (a real bugbear). I managed to get them working after 5 minutes of fiddling and THEN reading the instructions, and then went on to connect to my wireless network and then internet radio and my NAS (where a upnp server dishes out my music).
The quality of the music is astounding given the simplicity of the system (I have a high-end system to compare it with) especially when streamed or from the iPod.
The remote is very fussy about alignment and is the second bugbear.
The solution is to register the product and spend £3.49 on the Reciva app for your iPod/iPad/iPhone - this makes it all soooo much easier.
I would recommend a decent pair of stands (mine are on an old pair of Linn Kan stands) and site them a little away from the wall unless you want to disturb the locals with masses of bass (they have a rear firing port) - and they image better that way too.
So im summary:-
Pros: Sound, Convenience, App, access to stored music/internet radio/FM radio/USB device etc
Cons: LCD Screen and remote a joke, will need decent stands.
