The new volume is in response to the demand for further questions of this type that are becoming widely used throughout medical schools in the UK. Whereas in the previous two volumes a systems approach was used, this volume mixes questions, testing the reader across all disciplines. No excuses are made for the use of some previous option lists with minor modifications or occasionally repeating a question; this should reassure the readers that there is a limit to the number of medical lists that can be thrown at them. It also serves to reinforce important topics.
We are also pleased to note that the format of the question is similar to that in the previous volumes and the introduction has been retained. I used books 1 and 2 of the previous edition this year for finals and found them invaluable and FUN! if you have EMQs in your exam its important to practice the technique. Admittedly, the questions are a lot easier than those from my exam at GKT, but the answers are so well explained that you learn a lot from just going through the books. If you don't have EMQs in your exam however don't bother- it's best to practice questions in the same format as your exam.

this book and its companion provide a superb introduction to emq-style style questions. the explanations are detailed enough to enable the reader to understand fully why the answer has been arrived at.

My friends and I shared the cost of 3 of these PasTest books and we used them every other day as a break from revision.
We learned quite of a lot of little gems of information and it served as a welcome break from our regular revision.
The questions are good and fun to do in a group (depending on your group). We used them for our 4th year exams at HYMS - so we missed out the questions that required management.
The extra blurb after each answer was really good at teaching us in bite-sized amounts.
