The camera itself probably was okay but I could not understand the unintelligable, gobbldygook instructions. I did manage to set the date etc by trial-and-error but what all the lights meant was beyond my ability to decypher from the instructions. Kept it on the car for a week experimenting with the set up but it did not manage to record anything. So. Camera - unknown, instructions - go to back of class and put 'dunce' cap on.

Quite impressed with this item for the price......The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars, was the fact that when I switched it on this morning, about two weeks after I bought it, the power on light seems to have failed! Everything else continues to function ok...So far!...But I'll be watching it closely in the next few weeks to make sure it performs to spec......Don't really want to return it for such a minor niggle at the moment.... Especially as it seems to have got suddenly popular and they're out of stock!

Update, (later same day):
Managed to scan and zoom in on the incredibly tiny "user manual", that came with it and it implies that the power on light is also a "charge Indicator"...So there is probably a small battery or storage capacitor in there somewhere, (which allows a few minutes extra recording when the power is removed, whether by accident or design); in which case, it could mean that the light goes out when it is fully charged....If that were the case it would get 5 stars from me!!!

Fantastic product - wish I had got one years ago. I am a lady on my own and I had no problems setting this up myself and sorting out the wiring. There are some useful videos on you tube about how to hide the wires for dashcams which I viewed before sorting mine and I found them really informative and I picked up loads of tips so definitely worth a watch.

The cameras do give you peace of mind, and once set up you just drive and go - they switch themselves on an off when you start/stop the ignition. The back camera wires go into the front camera and the front camera wires go into the cigarette lighter so you do only need one cigarette lighter to power both the front and back cameras. I have a vauxhall insignia which is quite a long car and there is plenty of cable length.

I did find reading some of the help information in earlier reviews useful too when setting it up as not too easy with the instructions but if you read the reviews on here there are definitely some good guidelines which you can use instead of the instruction booklet.

I am a lady and definitely a bit of a technophobe and I managed to set this up and wire it up myself so you should be fine with just a little basic knowledge if you do the things I have mentioned above.

The camera is now installed and working in the car. The instructions were a little vague but I expected that, no instructions for the remote unless I missed it, but working well. Good value for money

Very good little unit for the price. Nice clear pictures on playback through the computer. It does the job. Only criticism is that the instructions are unfathomable. Needed a lot of effort to work out the settings and how to use it.

First of all, this dash cam is not as claimed, 1080p. It is 720p that has been upscaled to 1080p, with the result that you just end up with much larger file sizes and a larger image that is pretty fuzzy. The rear cam is obviously a much lower resolution than the front one,

My cam, from Elephas, was slightly more expensive than one claiming to be 720p only, so I could have just saved a few quid, so if I were being a stickler for trading standards, I might ask for a refund.

The system works more or less as expected, (false resolution stats aside), though I don't expect too much longevity.
The battery has barely enough power when charged to last more than a minute or two, and hardly charges at all when plugged in to the 12v supply for an hour long commute. However, It really only needs enough charge in most cases, to last the 10 seconds the unit needs to save the file and shut down when you turn off the ignition, so that shouldn't be a problem. You won't be using this as a battery powered action cam any time soon.

Video quality so far is adequate to show cars in daylight. Don't expect to read number plates easily, and beware of including any sky in-shot. Mine is incredibly overexposed (blown out) in the sky portion when the clouds are bright. I have yet to view night footage.
The so called IR LEDs are a complete waste of time, but at least you can turn off the front ones (Not the back).
The Viewing angle is variously described as either 120 degrees or 170 degrees. I'm guessing it is nearer to 90 to 100 degrees on the front camera. Still, for 28 quid it will do.

The camera arrived quickly first impressions were good looked well made and sleek, plugged it in to charge it found all the menus were in chinese (I think ) managed to get them back to english by some good luck. When the unit was fullycharged I removed usb the unit would not switch on it wouldnt work without power lead I contacted elphas they told me yes it was faulty please send back for replacement via second class post. Luckily I ignored this advice and sent it first class recorded as after a week I still hadnt got my replacement the apparent reason I hadnt emailed to say I had sent it even though I enclosed all the relevent detail in the parcel. When I eventually recieved my replacement everything seemed ok the claimed long stand by is not true everyday I would switch camera off after I got to work, after work I would find the battery was flat on the 3rd day I took the provided car charger and plugged it in the screen turned white and wouldnt do anything couldnt even switch it off I removed the cable ironically the screen remained lit in white for several hours even though it had never lasted longer than 30 minutes before. I am currently in the process of trying to return this for a full refund
