With the oncoming of winter, I decided to reduce the condensation levels in the house, so after trawling through many dehumidifier specs, I finally picked the ELA RD12D primarily due to the automatic presets and a large water tank.
So far the unit has done it's job admirably, leaving me in amazement on the amount of water condensed from the atmosphere.
On the whole, the unit is not to noisy, easy to cart about and uses just over 250 watts of electricall power.
Have recommended this unit to my collegues at work as it performs well and looks good.

this was put in to a 2 bed flat, it has roughly halved the humidity and completely cured the mould problem.

Arrived really quickly - within 24 hours - which was impressive. Easy to use. And I reckon it extracted about 15l of water within the week. Well worth it :)

Does what it says on the tin. No issues to report. Best feature is the automatic setting which monitors and controls air humidity

For a compressor driven dehumidifier, this ELA RD12D is fabulous. It is very similar to the manually-controlled models carrying the Dimplex and Honeywell names, but with improved moisture-extraction performance and digital controls, at roughly the same power consumption and price. Bargain!

This RD12D weighs a very reasonable 10½kg, and at 49cm(H) x 37cm(W) x 22cm(D) it's very stable yet still easily movable from room to room. The quality of the plastics and tactile nature of the front-mounted light-touch membrane digital controls give this unit an air of robust quality. It certainly feels as if you've got your monies worth!

It has a generous set of features too: You can pre-set the humidity level to 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, Continuous operation or Automatic (where the unit will self-adjust humidity level based on temperature). In use, the display always shows current humidity (it's accurate enough when measured against a professional meter), and the fan can be set to either high or low speed; at low speed, even with the compressor running this is a remarkably quiet machine given it's impressive 12 litres a day maximum extraction rate (although actual performance depends upon room temperature and the actual moisture content present in the atmosphere).

There's a timer too; you can pre-set the unit to run for up to 24 hours in 1hr increments (rather than the 12hrs maximum it states in the manual) before shutting off. Best of all though, the fan shuts down completely once the humidity level has been reached - a feature which is very unusual for a machine with digital controls. In this state, it uses just 2w of power. The fan will quietly re-start periodically just to sample the air (14w at low fan speed, 20w at high), deciding then if to re-start or sleep once again.

During winter with double glazing and central heating, I have found lots of mold behind the furniture. So I bought this product and cleaned the flat with bleach. This dehumidifier works vey well keeping the flat dry. It says on the instruction that it drys up to three rooms, but it does the job for a full two bedroom flat. It also keeps the flat warm on damp days, saving on gas.

I bought one of these from another company.
It worked well for a couple of months but then stopped extracting moisture.
Sent it back for a refund. The cause was loss of refrigerant gas - the second time this has happened.

Had mine all winter, I got this one for my mother. It removes a tank full of water most nights. I now have no mould growing in places that we were having to spray and wipe. The windows are clear in the morning. And on a health issue my yearly winter cough has not appeared due to the house not being damp, Wish id got this sooner. There is some noise but ive even had this running on high speed in the bedroom and still been able to sleep.
