First of all the picture for this product is very misleading as what you get is not actually what's in the picture - all you actually get is 2 of the light green egg holders/poacher. So 1st off I was disappointed that what arrived wasn't what I thought it was going to be. No matter the packaging assured me that the product was still useable without having the whole structure.

My next concern was that the poachers had holes throughout - surely as soon as I crack the egg into it the egg is going to leak through? I was right, so quickly I transferred the eggs into the pan of simmering water. Immediately egg started to seep into the water, however I wasn't unduly concerned because I knew once the egg started to solidify it would stay put. I turned around to make a coffee & when I turned back to the pan both the egg poachers had toppled over & the pan was awash with a mixture of egg white & water.

Therefore this product is utterly useless unless
a) you're prepared to stand & hold the poachers in place
b) you buy the whole unit. Which amazon might sell - I don't know, I may have looked for it had I realised that wasn't what I was buying in the first place!

My advice is that for the money it probably costs to buy the whole thing it would probably be better to buy a traditional egg poacher
