This is the best model railway construction software by far and i've tried them all.The best advise i can give is,don't try to run before you can walk.Sit down and read the manual before you do anything.Unlike what one reviewer said, highly detailed superb looking landscapes can be constructed but it takes practise.True,it's not British but the functionality and content more than make up for that. How many of the others offer a working turntable, traverser or a fully working crane that will load goods onto rolling stock.Signals, points and even a level crossing with moving cars, can all be automated. At first i thought certain items were missing, click on the rail symbol with a red box on one of the rails, that's where you'll find them.To go underground, lay the track at minus level, press the level button then fill the hole in,yes the train will run through solid earth!!A fine piece of software that's given me hours of pleasure, buy it.

My only 2 problems with this modeling game are the lack of British content (engines, static models etc are all German or American) and the limited land reforming tools (You can either do rather pointy mountains or straight ramps between two levels).
The engines look and sound great, with realistic momentum and simple controls. Like traditional real-world modeling this "game" requires a little patience, so I'd suggest reading a few pages of the relatively thin manual before you start. Having said that, I had engines running on track over hills within an hour or so of starting out. You can start you own model from scratch, or choose from a variety of included models to see what can be done or play with the trains.

This game is rubbish! its only for the experienced programmer because thats basically what the game is! programming! no way is it 12+! i'm 16 and i had to send it back cos it was too hard! there wasn't even a tutorial added! this is not a simulation game! you have to build the whole train world from scratch! nothing like the screenshots!
