Fascinated by the edgy world of espionage and crime, Eve is the author of four thrillers and is probably best known for her central character, Paul Tallis, a former firearms officer who works as an off-the books spook for MI5.
'The Last Exile' was published in 2008, 'The Mephisto Threat' in 2009 and 'Land of Ghosts' in 2010. All three titles have also been published in the States.
In a previous life, Eve wrote press releases for P.R. consultancies based in London and Birmingham. Five children later, (and the reason she was a late starter) she began writing fiction. To make up for lost time, and in a ruthless bid to make her stories as genuine as possible, she has bent the ears of numerous police officers, including those in scenes of crime, and developed contacts within the military, the United Nations, and various charities working with refugees and victims of war. She once spent a memorable evening in a simulated laser suite with a firearms team at their secret headquarters and received a master class in weaponry.
More recently, to find out what it would be like to be caught up in a fire-fight mid-air, she took to the skies in a helicopter, flying several times at high and, more scarily, at low altitude, which only goes to prove that writers will do pretty much anything to recreate an authentic experience for their readers.
By day, she works as a freelance editorial consultant and is also co-founder of Rough Diamond editorial consultancy.
