Ideal for any student or general interest reader looking for a concise summary of the potential of E-commerce. Naturally, the author sees E-commerce as a positive step, and at times may underplay any drawbacks. It is, however, a good overview, with two case studies at the end. De Kare-Silver discusses most aspects, from what makes a good web site to assessing whether a particular industry is likely to succeed on the net.
One of the most interesting aspects he focuses on, is how E-commerce may encourage a move away from traditional hierarchies within business, towards more autonomous and egalitarian work practices.
Very readable, and a good back up for Business Studies or IT students.
