5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic - 6 stars 30 Jan 2009
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
this is absolutely stunning.

anyone interested in sandy bull needs this and quickly, anyone looking at this page wondering who he is just needs to buy it.

due to the way he effects the guitar, i give anyone the opening 10 seconds of 'no deposit, no return blues' to be sucked in. and it just gets better...

its like early kraftwerk meeting at that spooky crossroads they talk about in the blues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Found at last! 15 Aug 2010
By johnefe
Format:MP3 Download
Bought this to replace a lost vinyl version.

One of the first American artists to explore North Africa, blues and jazz, this album only contains 2 (long) tracks that transport you into a meditative and happy state. The technique with the oud and guitar is superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring Back Sandy Bull Rhythmic Flow Master 19 May 2000
By Peter Rorvik - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Its nearly 30 years since I first heard this album and I still quote it as my all-time favourite music. All the world music fans who are band-wagoning on cross-cultural sounds should listen to this historically pioneering artist who blended North African and Middle Eastern textures within a western context into our experience, regrettably the experience of a small few, but hopefully a wider community of listeners to come. Not only important historically, but musically: a wide range of music genres over the last couple of decades have worked with drone-note principles and it is an increasingly common device, but Sandy Bull was/is a superlative master of utilising the drone sounds;understated but effective in creating sounds that vibrate and resonate within ones being in mesmeric meditative flow. Flow I think is an essential description of this album, for it is not an inane lift-lobby new age meditative music, and neither anything jarring, it is fluid and flowing, like a perfect wave unwinding along a perfect point. And the perfection of the music lies in the way it allows you like a surfer to find your own flowing journey along this mesmeric but spaciously unfolding wave. I still have the LP but am seeking the cd,please! p.rorvik@saol.com

5.0 out of 5 stars gone but not forgotten 26 Oct 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
like other great artists and creative people in the 60s-70s, Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, Buckley... Sandy Bull passed on. But anyone listening to his recordings will never forget or confuse him with any other guitarist. It's not just a 60s record, it's an inspirational record. If you play or enjoy really good guitar, get this.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing music, especially for its time 16 Oct 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I kept this album for years until it almost wore out, taped it, held onto the precious tape...you get the idea. It amazed me to see him listed on this website. It sure would be SWELL if it could be reissued as a CD!!! It would be even sweller if he'd record something new!
