Book Description

Life is harsh. It makes no exceptions. Not even for the innocent.

Outpost Three: a huddle of crumbling buildings choked by a concrete wall. Cracked pavement, rusted metal, splintering boards. Huge robotic Sentries police the streets, but the Ten Laws are broken every time one turns its back.

Eden is determined, smart, and a born survivor. Stripped of her memories and dumped on the streets of the Outpost, slavers and starvation are only the beginning of her problems. A devastating conflict is coming that threatens to consume her world and tear her newfound family apart.

“Absolutely heart-stopping! Grizzly, dark, haunting and gripping in a way that kept me glued in to the very end. If you are looking for a strong and smart heroine in a kick butt dystopian world, this is the book for you.” - Leti Del Mar, author of Land of the Unaltered

“The characters are fascinating, especially the enigmatic love interest Jonas, and his threatening rival, the dark and sizzling Matt.” - Pol Blaze, author of Pan-Dim.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful debut 26 Sept. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition
I found E to be a thoroughly engrossing novel and a very strong debut for the author. The story was dark and intelligently written, growing increasingly bleak as it progressed. The political and ethical themes were highly interesting and raised in a way that offered no solutions to the issues raised, leaving it open to the reader to interpret whether Eden's eventual choices were correct.

My biggest issue with the story was that it raised many questions - Eden's nightmares, her history with Jonas, the creation of the sentries - but did not offer any answers to them. I appreciate that the author might be saving these for the sequel but I would have preferred a little more closure as it left this story feeling a bit like an introduction to a larger work.

However, the strong cast more than made up for this little gripe. Eden was an incredibly strong female lead and proved to be more than capable enough to stand up the villains on equal terms. Although not the most imposing character physically, her intelligence gave her the necessary edge to survive in Outpost Three. The supporting cast was also very good and I felt genuine concern whenever any harm befell any member of Eden's "family" as I soon found that I did not want anything bad to happen to them.

All in all this was a fantastic read and I look forward to the sequel.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! 2 May 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition
I was drawn into this story from the first words and loved it through to the end.

This is a tale of a dismal future where those that break the law are erased...who they have been wiped away. This author has created a scarey and cruel world where survival is an everyday, and in many ways an impossible, chore. Not only do folks battle for every meagre morsel, whether it be food or medicine or shelter, but they are watched and patrolled by the mechanical police...taken to be erased if they should be caught breaking the 'peace'.

This story is powerfully told by Eden, a young woman who has experienced past horrors and now fights for survival in addition to trying to remember who she is.

A fabulous book with interesting and believable characters and twists and turns enough so to keep us guessing what will happen next. Be prepared for shocks and heartbreak.

I had to buy the next installment and pre-order book 3, as it is a compelling story.

    Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent start to a series 9 Oct. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition
I have read my fair share of sci-fi, fantasy and dystopian novels, and as a whole they are not my favourite genres. I find many of them overly complex, character's names convoluted and the whole thing too much effort. This is certainly not the case with this novel.
It captured my imagination from the very first sentence and held it until the very last.
Eden, as the main character, is complex and well-rounded, and eminently believable, an the other characters are equally well-drawn.In the protagonist, Matt, Wrath creates is a heady mix of violence and attraction, and he is far from stereotypical.
The story is full of mystery and shadowed corners, and much is left for the reader to guess at. The novel is at once fast paced, and yet full of introspection. It is beautifully written, the author sculpting images from words with ease.
There is little revealed in this first book, leaving much to be developed in subsequent novels. And I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read 1 Jun. 2015

E - I was given this book to write an honest review.
I really dont know where to start.......I absolutely loved this book. Its got to be one of the best books ive read in along time. It was captivating and intriguing,  the plot was original and very well written.
Ive not read and books by this author previously but found thr style flowed effortlessly.
As for the characters....what a mixed bunch!! Eden was fab, I wished we knew more before being erased maybe in future books we will.
She was a great female lead, feisty,  vulnerable snf thrre was confusioneith her character she fudnt really know what she was capable of at times.
I really want more of Jonas and Eden not sure its going to happen, let's hope fate brings them together.
Matt ermmmm so undecided about him, hes certainly got a soft spot for Eden but how far will that go?
Bring on Evolution!!! Really looking forward to what im sure will be another fab read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!! 26 Sept. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition
Eden wakes up in an alleyway unsure of who she is or how she got there, but her first instinct is to hide.

In a world where metal sentries rule and if there is any rule breaking, you answer to them. There is no judge, no jury, you are taken to the box and erased.

Starving, alone, desperate she meets Jonas and Apollon who take her under their wing, including a young boy Oscar who she finally feels she has to survive for, to protect.

In a struggle to survive, with her new family, war is coming, whose side will they take? Is any side better than the other?

I really enjoyed this book, such a great storyline and great characters. I would love to know more about the world and how it came to be. Hopefully we will find out in book 2 which I can't wait to read!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
