Dyson DC35 Multi Floor Cordless Vacuum Cleaner DC35 Multi Floor cleans up top down below and in-between with tools for every floor type. The motorised floor tool attaches to the wand or directly to the machinefor awkward spaces. DC35 Multi Floor has 15 minutesrun time 13 minutes with the floor tool attached or 6 minutes on Boost mode. Powered by a Dyson Digital motor with Root Cyclone technology for no loss of suction. Some conventional vacuum cleaners use a bag that can clog and cause suction to drop. The Dyson vacuums use Root Cyclone technology. Powerful centrifugal forces spin dust and dirt out of the air and into the bin with no loss of suction. Dyson engineers spent a decade developing new types of highly efficient digital motors. The Dyson digital motor is smaller lighter clenaer and more power-efficient than conventional electric motors. Dyson digital motors use digital pulse technology spinning at up to 104 000 times a minutes. That s over 1700 times a second. DC35 machines have a motorised floor tool with two types of brushes for different floor surfaces. The carbon fibre brush bar has rows or ultra-fine filaments a engineered to remove fine dust from hard wood floors. These filaments are made from pure carbon fibre selected for its anti-static properties. There are also stiff nylon bristles for carpets. They spin at high speed to remove ground in dirt. The wand is made from lightweigt aluminium. It extends to 66cm to clean up high down low and into awkward gaps. Remove the wand and you can use your DC35 machine as a handheld ideal for quickly cleaning up spills and removing dust and dirt from the car. Dual power mode gives you two power options. 15 minutes of high constant suction for longer tasks 13 minutes with the motorised brush bar attached or 6 minutes on Boost mode for tougher cleans. This cordless vacuum really works and is a pleasure to use. If you've ever used another upright cordless, you'll know what I mean. (If you've never used a cordless vacuum, imagine the difference between a mains-tethered motormower and petrol-powered version.)
Here's how the DC35 stands out:
* Power. While less powerful than a mains-powered vacuum, it's surprisingly good for a cordless and only occasionally annoys you by failing to pick something up. (Others are so weak you end up wishing you lugged out the mains-powered vacuum). Dyson say the power doesn't drop as the dust container fills, and this seems to be true from using it. Looking at how it's constructed, you can see why this is so - other manufacturers, take note!)
* Ease of emptying. For obvious reasons, portables have a small capacity and need frequent emptying. This model is (possibly?) unique in that you just press a button and the waste flicks cleanly out the bottom without an airborne dust explosion.
* Build and design quality. It's clear that the manufacturers have avoided cutting corners (and the price reflects it).
It doesn't entirely replace a mains-powered vacuum (or a hired cleaner), but I find this cordless does 95% of what's important. Battery life is only 13 minutes but life is too short to spend longer than that vacuuming. Once you get skilled at using it, 13 minutes of run-time is enough to do the main area of a medium-sized house plus half of the remaining rooms (which you alternate each time you vacuum). Perfect.
The motorized head is effective on both hard surfaces and carpets. It also comes with crevice/brush tools for getting into corners or cleaning the car. (Again, 13 minutes is a sensible time limit for vacuuming a car!... Read more ›

I purchased this (not on Amazon as I found it cheaper elsewhere) after seeing a friend's. I wouldn't have paid the scary price if I hadn't seen it in action. I bought it because I am sick of seeing cat hair swirling underneath my sofa and dining table even when I sweep every day. Also, the baby makes crumbs around her highchair, and sweeping between chairs and table legs is a chore I could do without. This vacuum will revolutionise my cleaning. That sounds overly dramatic, but it's true. The clumsy broom and brush and dustpan will be banished to the shed, replaced by this neat little vacuum on its tidy docking station. I didn't expect it to perform as well as a regular vacuum because of the battery life, but this wasn't a problem. I've done the whole of my ground floor, the stairs and de-cobwebbed in less than 4 minutes. Even though I swept this morning, I have had to empty the drum twice - I just can't believe how much dirt it found. That is the scary but strangely pleasing thing about Dysons though.
If you have laminate or similar floors, are tight for space, have a bad back etc this is the vacuum for you. It is amazing! I'm not sure how it would cope cleaning carpets on a regular basis, but it coped well with the muddy back door mat, even before I'd worked out where the maximum power button was. It is smaller than it looks in the pictures and light enough that you don't feel any strain, even when doing the ceilings.
The only possible thing that could have made it better would be if the docking station actually charged it too. Instead you have to manually insert the charging cable, then hang it on the docking station.
This vacuum is worth every penny. Just shop around as it is available cheaper with web offers etc.... Read more ›

I recently purchased the Dyson DC35 Multi Floor Hand held vacuum cleaner and I can honestly say it's the best buy I think I've ever made ! It's light weight, easy to use, multi functional, easy to store on the wall and out of the way.
I have a dog and cats and it picks up all the fur without any problems. Infact I use this more than my large Dyson now as it's a lot quicker to give the floors a quick wiz around.
I was originally looking at purcahsing the DC31 Animal but I'm glad I didnt now as this is so multifunctional with the long handle and the large floor head and not forgetting the stairs - quick & easy to use.
I highly recommend this cleaner !

My husband bought this - with my knowledge & consent!! It is one of the best gadgets I have ever owned. We have a large ground floor area- tiled with several rugs. I can scoot round in just a few minutes, rugs and all - the Dyson lasts out and does a fantastic job. I use it on max. power on the rugs and low for the tiled floors. So much easier than lugging the big vac. out - to be honest I don't bother on a daily basis. It is so easy with the 'Dyson slim' that I do a quick scoot every day - the place has never looked so spruce. It works very well on the stairs too. I don't suggest you buy one of these instead of a 'full size/electric vac. but as a supplement - absolutely superb. I don't hesitate to recommend it. Many thanks Dyson. Sue.

It was an impulse purchase !!!, we were shopping for a compact tumble drier, and my wife picked up the Black & Decker cordless cleaner that was about £50 and asked if she could have it. I noticed these on the shelf next to where we were and said if we were to get a cordless, I'd rather one of these (I have had my eye on them for some time). Long story short, we did a deal and got a bargain.

As per the title, this is probably THE best cordless out there. We own an aging (8 year old) Dyson DC07 Animal, 2 cats and a rabbit. The DC07 still does a great job, but has always been too heavy for my wife. The DC35 on the other hand is like a helium filled balloon in comparison. Then there is the power this little teeny tiny thing puts out, it is INSANE. I don't know if it could match the current Dyson upright/cylinder range but it is easily as good as my old DC07 (which must have lost some power during its lifespan, although not much if any). Add to that the MOTORISED brush bar, gone are the days of no brush bar or one that is powered by the flow of air - this one is powered by a tiny but powerful little motor - AND, if that wasn't enough it has a mini Dyson Ball to make it even easier to maneuver. It is as easy to empty as any Dyson has ever been. I do have a couple of slight niggles with it, one is its battery life/capacity. It will only run for 13 minutes (on MAX, unknown on the lower setting, I never use it) and needs frequent emptying - whilst this is a niggle, it is not a design flaw as this unit is NOT designed or marketed as being a replacement for a full on vacuum....
