Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Dyson - the cleaner that doesn't lose suction. Others clog. Ours don't.

With Patented Dyson technology (Root Cyclone technology) this cleaner doesn't clog, doesn't lose suction and still filters particles as small as cigarette smoke. Dyson has developed a unique system that does not rely on filters or bags to separate dirt from air, instead it uses powerful centrifugal force to spin the dirt out of the air, so there's no clogging and no loss of suction. It has brush control, which means the brush bar can be turned off for rugs and delicate floors and it also has a telescope reach and a quick release wand which expands for instant cleaning. With a mini turbine head, it is ideal for removing pet hair and dirt from confined spaces such as upholstery, stairs and the car. There are no running costs with this cleaner as there are no bags to buy and there is no need to replace filters, just wash every 6 months. With a tough durable construction, it is made from the strongest materials available to withstand bumps and bashes and the clear bin is made from tough polycarbonate, the same material used in crash helmets, so this is also strong and durable. This fantastic cleaner also has on-board tool storage, with tools stored securely on the machine so they're always on-hand. The air expelled from a Dyson contains up to 150 times less mould and bacteria than the air you breathe.

Comes with a 5 Year Guarantee - Repeatedly tested for an equivalent 10 years of use to ensure durability. Dyson support is on hand 7 days a week.

Approved for allergy sufferers - All models carry the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval. HEPA + Bactisafe - Lifetime hospital-level HEPA filter with bacteria killing screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy at Amazon, 9 Mar 2008

This review is from: Dyson DC14 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Owners (Kitchen & Home)
I have spent weeks trying to decide which vacuum to purchase, hours looking at reviews in the internet, should I get Sebo, LG, Miele or another make, its just a minefield. I have a hairy dog .. and I stupidly gave my old Dyson away, because of a couple of minor design faults, I went on to use 3 different makes of vacuum cleaner, none of these matched the cleaning power of the Dyson. But I can honestly say the Dyson DC14 is excellent, easy to use, manoeuvre and actually sucks up dog hairs. I previously had the older purple Animal Dyson, not as good, or as easy to use. I am glad to say the updated version has ironed out the annoying design faults that existed in the old ANIMAL version, such as an awkward hose, tendancy to tip over and a poorly shaped sucking device. Amazon offers this product alot cheaper than a local electrical store, where a purchased mine for £299. Wish I had read this review before purchasing.

Blimey we'd only vacuumed 2 days before receiving the Animal but all i can say is WOW, the amount of cat hair it dredged up from our carpet (which now looks cream again) made me feel a bit queezy. Heartily recommended for any one with pets

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazing - But Not For Long, 10 Jan 2009

This review is from: Dyson DC14 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Owners (Kitchen & Home)
This was the second Dyson I bought in the hope that the first was just a one-off duff. I was wrong. At first, the suction was incredibly good, but over a period of time it had lost a large amount of suction even though it had been cared for properly. Eventually the suction was so poor, it did not pick up effectively. Pretty much the same pattern as the first Dyson which was a different model. The hose broke after a year and it is heavy and very noisy and can be difficult to manoeuvre. Considering the price of a Dyson I would expect a far superior performance than this. I now have a Miele on the advice of many people and have discovered that this brand has swept the board in awards for appliances in general, particularly vacuum cleaners and are a firm favourite of Which? magazine. I have a Miele cylinder Cat & Dog TT5000 (because it's smaller and lighter than an upright) which has an adjustable suction dial and it's brilliant. I'ts cleaning power is amazing and it is very quiet. Miele also do upright models with adjustable suction and swivel neck joints for navigating around furniture (S7 Range). This range also lies down flat for vacuuming under furniture and even though they use dust bags they are incredibly clean and easy to change and the dust bags are very cheap to buy. Check the range out on their website miele.co.uk before you decide. My advice is buy a Miele. In my experience a Dyson is Amazing, but only for a short period of time.
