Patented Dyson Root Cyclone and Core Separator technology ensures the DC23 doesn't clog, it uses powerful centrifugal force to spin the dirt out of the air, so there's no loss of suction The Telescopic Wrap System allows the hose and wand to be compressed, and ensures that the Dyson DC23 Stowaway can be stored away neatly and compactly, with no loose components or wires to get tangled. It is constructed from ABS and polycarbonate which means that as well as being compact, the Dyson DC23 Stowaway is also durable and lightweight. Variable suction means you can reduce suction in order to clean curtains, upholstery or rugs without them sticking to the cleaner. A washable HEPA filter means that the air expelled from the Dyson contains up to 150 times less mould and bacteria than the air you breathe. All models carry the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval

I just loved my old Dyson DC01 now my new one has arrived it's more compact and sucks so hard it tries to lift the carpet off the floor, oh and it gets up dirt that has been ground into the floor...

After reading a few bad reviews on this Dyson I certainly had my concerns on it. People were saying that it was too heavy?? awkward to use?? had a small capacity?? and the best of all the lack of suction??????..... So I went home and put it to the test. I have two different types of carpet in my house, short and long pile and this vacuum cleaner works very well on both. I also have a hardwood floor in my hall which the Dyson also cleans very well. Its a very compact machine and will fit into small cupboards and has good accessories to clean cars, curtains and sofa's etc. This is a good vacuum cleaner and the capacity is the same as any other vacuum cleaner of the same size, if you want a larger capacity then I suggest you buy a larger cleaner. I was toying with buying a Miele which was priced the same but fell for the design of this one..... being a bloke an all! its a good all rounder and does the job it was designed for.

I thought I'd wait a few months before reviewing this - after all it might work well for the first few hoovers and then die on me. In the end it's been over a year, but that means you benefit from the knowledge that a year on it's still working fine for me and I'm happy with my purchase!
Good points:
1. Good suction for a smallish machine - and this is after all why I bought it!
2. Bagless. I've always had bags, so this is still novelty. Also kind of freaky to see what is hoovered, especially from matresses....
3. Good set of attachments, including a smaller head - mini-me in our house - which is good for doing the stairs.
4. Easy as pie to use. I know no hoover can be that difficult, but it's easy enough to detach bits and adjust height.
5. Small and easy to store.
Bad points:
1.Heavy - I agree with other reviewers, it was heavier than I expected.
2.I'd like the cord to be longer - it doesn't seem long enough to me as it barely reaches from the top to the bottom of our stairs (we do have a dog-leg)
All in all a good purchase.

Disappointing

Do not buy this Dyson - too many faults

Dont buy it
Waste of money if you have carpets. Looks pretty but doesn't do the job. Will not pick up properly, takes 5 goes on one spot to pick anything up. Read more
