Just to start off saying that I have played every instalment since dynasty warriors 4, so I am able to convey that this is a well needed graphical and performance upgrade. In terms of graphics you can definitely see the difference on the characters, it's much more sharp and crisp. Also when you are in a battle, enemies don't just appear out of no where now you can see all the enemies in the background. Furthermore, archers now change to swords when you get near which I think is a nice touch.

In terms of characters, a lot of 'non-famous' officers in previous games are now made into their own individual officer with each having a unique weapon.

In terms of the modes, there is free mode, ambition mode, challenge mode and the standard story campaigns with the addition of a 'Lu Bu' story for no extra. Ambition mode is still not amazing, which is why it is 4 star. It is good, but can become repetitive and doesn't develop that quickly.

Overall though you get hours upon hours of gameplay for £30, with £20 of edition content included. Well worth a purchase!

Firstly, this game is a great price, yes it is just basically an up scaled ps3 port with an expansion, but believe me if you are a dw fan then its totally worth the upgrade/buy. Or if you are new to the series then this is a great start point.

Not only do you get an up scaled version of dw 8 on the ps3, but you also get the xtreme legends stuff aswell. Like new characters loads of new weapons and new story missions. So that's about £50 total for both games on the ps3, but only £30 on the ps4!

Now this game isn't perfect. The online is terrible and always has been. you need to actually select play online as a setting, then you have to wait for someone to actually join and hardly anyone plays online (the game even is cross platform) if they quit the game ends. So no drop in out co-op (but when you get a good game going its really fun) You would expect them to create a lobby system or something. Best play with friends.

Boredom is also a negative point with this series, yes its fun to hack n slash through loads and loads of enemies but after a short while it does get repetitive. There is also a bit of slow down when there are a lot of enemies on the screen. They said they had fixed this from the ps3 version but I can still see it happening.

As I said if you are a dw fan then its worth it, or if you are new to the series then this game is worth the money 100%

LOVE the game, to sum it up...it is an enhanced version of previous DW games with some new things for example "Rage" , I love activating this while fighting and especially its finisher as its the longest, strongest and BEST finisher I've seen in any DW game...basically its a 'Must Buy' and if you like DW (or even if you don't).

This game deserves a 5 star rating because it saves the dynasty warrior series. The amount of content you receive will last you months

Dynasty Warriors 8 it's a good game, but i purchase it to play with a friend online because there was any real multiple player games at the time when i purchased it, but the internet servers were (Input bad Language,....Ranting.... 20 mins later) and we kept getting disconnected every 10 mins.

But at the of me writing this review, I hear the internet servers are fixed but i an't giving it another try. I sold it within 2 weeks of purchase.

Great to pick up and mindlessly amuse yourself with, no real challenge to a lot of it sq sq tr tr sq sq sq tr tr rinse repeat but its just great fun to play and watch. Lots of modes to play so plenty to keep you occupied. I would never say a must have, but definately nice to have that will keep you entertained when mindless button mashing is the order of the day.

Played the free demo, can't beat a a bit of 1 man army chaos lol shame you have to download the 3.1gb Japanese voices, but at least it's free and it's better than the terribly dubbed English voice acting, love how the officer's speak through the controller, custom warriors is also fun :D

Dynasty Warriors at its best.

Graphics are immense, if you throw a guy 100 metres you can see him go all the way now, maps are better, difficulty levels actually make the game hard again.

Love it. + Challenge Mode returns in good form!

I've always loved the hack n slash games, and this one is just awesome, graphically and gameplay wise. There is a lot of stuff to do in this game, even a mode were you can create your own camp/army. Definitely a must buy
