The USB-IDE is a fully Plug n Play converter which allows IDE and Enhanced IDE interface devices such as Hard Disks, CD-ROM, CD-RW, COMBO, DVD-ROM, DVD +/-RW, DVD-RAM to be connected via either a high-speed USB2.0 (480Mbps) or USB1.1 (12Mbps) interface. It works with both 3.5" and 2.5" Hard disks and comes complete with external Power Supply to power 3.5" Hard Disks and other Mass Storage devices.

With one of these I am able to convert any internal hard drive, with an ide connection, to an external one. It is very easy to use and swap from drive to drive. It should be called an ide to usb converter because it converts the ide socket on a hard drive to a usb plug. Not the other way round. Well made and good delivery time. Highly recommended.
