I have just spent the past couple of hours trying to install these usb 2 cards in both of my computers. Both machines are running Windows XP, one is about five years old (pentium 2) the other about two (pentium 4). Both pcs found the card ok when you turn it on for the first time then install the cards partially until an error is displayed with the host controller, with this error the cards ports function but as usb 1!!! I tryed re-installing the drivers multiple times and the same thing happend. One thing i shall say about the supplied cd is that there are so many drivers on it for a whole range of different products its little wonder the hardware install that windows does automatically completes with the said error in the device manager. Even doing a manual install results in the same error. Eventually I went on the internet to Dynamodes website, downloaded the driver(s) from there support page (for some reason there are 2 drivers listed for the usb 2 card) and trying both exactly the same thing happens. I got rather frustrated going round in circles and decided to do what I (and anyone else who buys these cards should do before anything else) and that is view the read me file. Apparently the drivers are known to do this as they are not varified by microsoft so the manufacture has to provide a setup.exe file to install the cards automatically! I wasted lots of time and effort but I suppose it was my fault for trying to be clever and install them 'the quick' way! Overall they do the job and now work with my ipod at high speed, but DO NOT let windows install them, use the setup file on the cd under the 'via usb 2.0' folder.
