Yet another "miracle" slimming aid aimed at vulnerable people. So, why, you may ask, did I even bother to try them? The answer is that they caught me at a bad time. Last year I lost a stone in weight by eating sensibly and exercising moderately. Prior to my weight loss I was just edging into the overweight category vis-a-vis my BMI.

In the past month I have put on 5 lbs without altering my diet and I put this gain down to a new medication I am taking of which one of the primary side effects is weight gain. In desperation, I thought I would try these Raspberry Ketones but all I got was raspberry burps and palpitations - the former mildly annoying and the latter extremely distressing.

In my impulsive way, I had neglected to read up on raspberry ketones prior to taking them. I now know that they have never been tested on humans so we have no idea how they would effect the human metabolism. Research involving rats only included a small group of 6 in one study - not exactly conclusive evidence.

I would strongly advise against anyone purchasing this slimming aid. We are often fooled into thinking that herbal remedies couldn't possibly harm us in the same way conventional drugs could. In the very small print on the label it states that "individuals with a known medical condition should consult a doctor before using this or any food supplement". Unfortunately I sincerely doubt that many folk would consult their doctor prior to taking these tablets, perhaps out of fear of ridicule and out of sheer desperation. Anyway, they did warn you on the side of the bottle so they're not culpable! Avoid like the plague....

This is a difficult product to review, as any weight loss is due to a variety of influences at the time I was taking them. First, let me tell you a little about myself so you can appreciate my situation; I am a 48 year old male, weighing in at 17 & a half stone. Having decided to try and lose weight I started a diet supported by regular visits to the Health nurse very 3 weeks. I lost an impressive stone in the first 3 weeks through a combination of diet & exercise. Now everyone knows that any weight loss in the first few weeks tends to be the most drastic, so, eager to maintain this initial weight loss I started taking the ketones.
After another 3 weeks I lost a further 10 lbs. This sounds really encouraging but at the same time I was still dieting and exercising so it is difficult to asses if this weight loss was aided by the ketones. I feel they may have helped but now I have used them all it will be interesting to see if this weight loss continues for the NEXT 3 weeks.
UPDATE: having just come back from seeing the district Nurse, it has been another 3 weeks since I stopped taking the ketones, and I lost....11lbs! This is compared to the 10lbs that I lost whilst taking them! So in conclusion they don't work, as I lost a pound more over a 3 week period compared to the 3 weeks that I was taking them. Save your money and put it towards a gym membership instead!

I have been using these Raspberry Ketones Capsules for a couple of weeks now, taking one tablet twice a day. I should state that I am not overweight and have a healthy body mass index, so I don't really need to take these, I just wanted to see if using these tablets would make a difference in any way. I can't say that I have seen loads of fat dropping off of me, but then I haven't got loads to lose either. I have definitely found that my digestive system and metabolism have sped up a little bit though but I haven't noticed any difference in my appetite. So my verdict is that these capsules don't appear to have had any negative effects on me and that any weight change or loss has been negligible but that my metabolism has sped up slightly.

These seem to be making some kind of the difference, but that could just be a placebo. Each pill is packed full of good ingredients like antioxidants anyway so it's helping your body however you look at it. You take two pills a day, one twenty minutes before breakfast and one twenty minutes before your evening meal. With a glass of water. I'm still on the fence to be honest.

I really think raspberry ketones are a fad...not sure whether any great research has been done on them, ive tried them a couple of times so far, with no result...all that happens is I feel rough when I take the things....after I discovered you shouldnt take them whilst on antidrpressants (which I was doing the first time I tried these things...only after doing my own research...they dont tell you this on the bottle)...i got headaches.##Now all I seem to get is a raspberry smelling acid reflux burn in my throat when I take them...and raspberry flavoured burps.

I dont see ANY weight related benefits to these at all

Raspberries are good for you. They are also, it is thought by some, good for weight management, because they contain keytones, which are fragrant compounds which occur naturally in the fruit. Raspberry ketones, it is claimed, boost levels of a hormone called adiponectin, which regulates metabolism. Unfortunately, however, the amount of keytones you can acquire from a punnet or two of the fruit themselves is far too small to have much of an effect, so this synthetic version, in capsule form, used to get the same result. So this is the aim of these capsules: take two a day, with meals, and they are supposed to function as fat burners.

Do they work? As usual with such products, at best it's hard to distinguish between a causal connection and the placebo effect. I do feel there's a slight improvement when I take them (I've had them, via another brand, before), but this might be down to the greater sense of self-discipline one has when one uses a quite expensive weight management product and is keen not to feel it's money wasted. All I can say for sure is that it does no harm and, in my personal experience, seems to be helpful in a moderate way.
